Contraptor — Privacy Policy

Contraptor is a physics puzzle and building game developed by John Coumerilh (“we”). This policy explains what we collect and why.

You can use Contraptor without an account. Building contraptions, playing the tutorials, and browsing and playing the Community all work signed‑out. You only need to sign in (via your Apple ID / iCloud) to post content, rate, follow builders, appear on the leaderboard, or claim a username.

What we collect

iCloud identifier & username. When you participate in the Community, we use your Apple‑provided iCloud user record ID to establish your account and authorship, and the username you choose (shown publicly on your posts and the leaderboard).
Content you post. Challenges and solutions you publish, including their titles and instructions, plus your bio, ratings, follows, and reports. This content is public.
Push token. If you enable notifications, Apple provides a device token so we can notify you (e.g., when your challenge is solved or a builder you follow posts).
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, camera, location, or precise device identifiers, and we do not use third‑party advertising or tracking SDKs.

How it’s stored

Your content and account live in Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit. We don’t operate our own separate servers or sell data.

How we use it

To run the Community — show your posts, attribute authorship, compute the leaderboard, deliver notifications you asked for, and enforce our Terms (removing content or blocking accounts that violate them).

Your choices

You can block builders (hiding their content from you), report content, and delete your account and all your public content in‑app (Settings → Delete Account), which also releases your username.

Children

Contraptor is rated 13+ and is not directed to children under 13.
